Another Successful Social Fishing Day

A relatively new enterprise has developed in the club, it comprises of someone volunteering to be skipper for the day, as I was volunteered it was my turn. On a nominated Wednesday all members were invited to sit at Club Forster in the evening as I gave a talk on my fishing practices and rigs, the evening was well represented by members as I gave my talk over a few beers. Some points I suggested was very early starts, standard “J” hooks on a paternoster rig. The idea was to share knowledge and ideas with like minded people (that’s scary).

It was decided the following Saturday to go fishing, with our group of boats meeting at a nominated reef South of Forster bright and early in the morning. Wind and general weather conditions were very good, radio chatter on each boats progress continued through the morning which was interesting to hear where the fish were and in some cases where they were not. After a number of fish were caught by all we all ventured back to clean up and have a social barby at the boat ramp under a few trees where a few beers, sausage sandwiches and tall stories prevailed.
This was a very successful social day that was a pleasant way to spend the morning.
